At the Annual Dinner in November 2007, Joan Le Mercier was named Player of the Year. Out of the seven competitions eligible for Player of the Year Joan, who is also the Club’s new President, won the Summer Melee, Ladies Singles and Ladies Triples, was second in the Club Triples and third in the Club Doubles; in addition, she also won two minor competitions and was equal second in the PBS Open Melee; finally, she and Denis won the JPA Island Doubles competition.

Placed equal second in the Payer of the Year were Rita Le Brocq and Elaine Paisnel, who both achieved success in most of the major competitions. Also playing well in 2007 were Louie Bowen, Player of the Year in 2006, Matthew Pinel, who apart from being Island single champion, was placed in five Club competitions and Fred Paisnel who had a nail biting final in the singles, eventually beating young Matthew. Other players to watch for 2008 are Penny Foster and Lyndon Lewis.
